Employment:
As visas are only issued by Czech Embassies abroad, applicants must wait for their applications to be processed. A visa can be issued only by the Embassy/Consulate in the country where the application was submitted. Hence, you cannot apply for a visa in the US and pick it up in Europe or in the Czech Republic. You must be present in the US at the end of the application process when the employment visa is issued into your passport.
All visas have to be approved by the Czech Immigration Police, therefore the processing time is approximately 90 days from the date when the Embassy receives the fully completed application. In particularly complicated cases, the procedure could take up to 120 days.

Employment Situation:
One of the areas that state deals with within EU is the issue of integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic. Since the beginning of 1990s when there were larger and more diversified migration flows thanks to opening of the borders, the issue was in competence of the Ministry of the Interior and now the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The state's activity involves a complex set of measures of care for foreigners in the Czech Republic, including residence and conditions of asylum seekers. One of the priorities of the program is also "Simplifying Administrative Requirements for Employing Foreigners".
Teaching Positions:
In The Czech Republic international schools have many opportunities for professional teachers. But it is generally experienced teachers who have the best shots at lining up teaching jobs before traveling abroad. Nevertheless, there are opportunities for inexperienced native speakers, as well.
You don't necessarily need formal credentials or past teaching experience to find employment teaching English.
There are plenty of people without credentials who get hired to teach because there are not enough prospective teachers to meet the demand. Though a teaching certificate, past experience, or a related degree will attract the attention of employers, it won't necessarily guarantee you a job. Often, demonstrating desire, good communication skills, and an interest in the culture and language of your chosen country will be enough to get you hired.
As a general rule, the closer you get to the more popular, larger city destinations, like Prague, the more likely it is that employers will expect you to possess a teaching certificate, teaching experience, or both.
Work Permit Application:
Employer seated in the Czech Republic should arrange for the issuance of a work permit application, including all the particulars.
Documents, which are necessary for the work permit application:
- A photocopy of the page of your passport containing your basic identification data (to be retained by the Labor Office).
- The original or an officially verified copy of your qualification papers, e.g. a certificate of apprenticeship, diploma, certificate of an accredited language test and other certificates relevant for the profession you will pursue in the Czech Republic.
- Statement by the employer expressing its intention to employ you.
- Medical certificate of your health condition, no older than one month.
- The above-mentioned documents are presented in their original copies, together with notarized translations into Czech.
